Dear pickleball,
I missed you so much today. It’s always sad for me when I don’t get to play, but I’m sure I was due a rest and that’s what I did. I had options to do some open play, just to hit the ball here and there, but I passed on those. I didn’t get any invites to play today and when I thought of initiating a group myself, I didn’t take action, missing the opportunity to set something up. It’s okay, there’s always plenty of dog hair to vacuum at my house.
Because I have a round robin tomorrow I did go downstairs and get out the ball machine. I did a bucket of forehands and a bucket of backhands and did a bunch of wall drills. I got to point where I wanted to really speed up the ball but the ball machine needed a charge. I plugged it in and tested out the speed and height but then the remote stopped working. Without the remote I had to bounce back and forth, nearly ripping my t-shirt twice, dodging balls and watching my air ventilation system take a beating on the back wall. With so much going wrong I wrapped up my mini workout, carb loaded and went to the battery store to take care of the remote.
Tomorrow will be a long day and I’m not sure how I will write about it. But I’m looking forward to a bunch of good play.
